St George Home Loans

Now Owned by Westpac

St. George is one of Australia’s premiere banks with a history dating back to 1937 in suburbs of Sydney. Over the last fifty years, St. George established itself first as a successful building society and was granted full status as a banking institution in 1992.

More recently, the bank merged with another Australian institution, the Westpac Banking Corporation. Since 2008, the two businesses have operated officially as the St. George Bank. It forms one of Westpac’s five major divisions in public banking. It is one piece of a larger portfolio of banking organizations including Westpac Institutional Bank, BT Financial Group Australia, St. George Bank/BankSA, Westpac Retail and Business Banking, and New Zealand Banking.
